Description:

This painting is a companion piece to How to Exorcise Conservative Thought in an Artist. Both paintings were inspired by my interactions with the art community and my experiences as a political artist. This one is fairly simple. The basic concept is that my love of liberty is my scarlet letter. The idea that people should be left to their own devices is no longer considered realistic or preferable to many people. The art community, specifically, seems to find the thought offensive. Republicans and Democrats have become so much like one another, that the thought is appalling to the general population as well. Everyone wants a piece of the pie and control over someone else’s life.
